babanh-u laangi-yuyuka-a (Mother of Pearl)
Artist – Edwina Green
babanh-u laangi-yuyuka-a (Mother of Pearl) is a playable public sculpture conceived by Naarm-based Trawlwoolway multi-disciplinary artist Edwina Green and commissioned by Moonee Valley City Council.
Designed with cultural intention and care, the sculpture’s land-based form invites physical movement, storytelling, and a meaningful connection to Country. Functioning as both an artwork and an interactive play element, it supports engagement across ages and abilities.
The sculpture is temporarily installed at Incinerator Gallery as part of The Playground Project Melbourne exhibition, and will be relocated to its permanent site along the Maribyrnong River in 2026.
Lump Sculpture Studio proudly partnered with Edwina Green and Arts Eleven Projects to fabricate and deliver this significant piece of contemporary public art.
