Lump sentiMETAL project – with Dan
In keeping with our holiday spirit, lets share another sentimental moment. I asked 4 questions to all of the Lumpians about what projects they were sentiMETAL about this year and here is what Dan our Master of Paint had to say.
What is your most sentiMETAL job you have worked on this year? The Leaf Skeleton Dome Sculpture for Westfield.
Why is it your favorite? Being big and bright (green) it appealed to me aesthetically and being for a kids playground was the cherry on top. Not many people can say that their work will culminate in hundreds of children having heaps of fun every day!
What special part did you play in the project? I had a hand in many different parts of this project but my main role was to paint the end product. Being over 2m tall with a footprint of about 4 meters with so many nooks and crannies. Spray painting and not getting any runs was a huge challenge! It turned out beautifully though.
What was the most memorable thing about the project? This project stood out to me for a couple of reasons. Being so big and bright it made you smile just to look at it. And being such a large project it was one that brought the whole team together to build. One of the best parts of working at Lump is working with people who love what they do.
