An intricate assembly of Corten steel sections creates a solid and transparent form.

When roughly translated from Italian, ‘Sotto’ means ‘what lies beneath’ and the name is fitting; while giving the impression of being solid when viewed from an angle it is possible to see straight through the sculpture when viewing from the front.

Sotto saw Chris bring to life a seemingly impossible idea. How could he create a three dimensional orb shape from pieces of flat 3mm Corten? How would he make it fit together? And how on earth would he get the welder in those tiny gaps?
