Custodian 1 | Lump

The faceted Custodians were commissioned for the Box Hill Institute’s Campus Modernisation Project. While designed as site-specific works, they are drawn directly from Lump Sculpture Studio’s signature collection of Faceted Sculptures.

Standing tall and open, each Custodian appears to welcome visitors to the campus. Their high, arching forms create an inviting gesture, embracing those who pass through. With shield-like faceted sides that lean gently toward the viewer, they embody both strength and guardianship—symbolically protecting and keeping watch over the Institute’s creative hub.
