Summer Projects

Summer may be drawing to a close, much to our disappointment here at Lump, but this time of year always brings a particular kind of joy.

It’s when we begin receiving photos from our wonderful clients.

After a fast-paced finish to 2014, working tirelessly to complete projects before the summer break, it’s incredibly rewarding to see our work installed and being enjoyed across the country.

Tricycle Sculpture – Sydney

The images below feature a Tricycle sculpture created for a client in Sydney. The installation was no small task.  The piece had to be craned up to the second floor of the residence.

While the photographs may not scream “summer,” the space itself looks exceptional. If you look closely, you’ll also spot one of our signature sphere sculptures positioned on the level above, reinforcing the sculptural language throughout the home.

3.6m Waratah Screen – Melbourne

Another standout project is a 3.6-metre Waratah screen installed for clients in Melbourne. This remains one of the largest individual screens we have ever fabricated.

The interplay between the illuminated screen and the brightness of the adjacent pool creates a striking nighttime atmosphere. The scale and detail of the screen demonstrate how architectural screening can transform an outdoor entertaining space.

Golden Ash Screens – Cairns

Not all projects are residential and sometimes the most satisfying outcomes come from solving practical challenges.

In Cairns, a structure clad in our Golden Ash screens was designed to conceal a power substation located on a nature strip. Rather than leaving an unsightly piece of infrastructure exposed, the screening solution not only performs its functional role but enhances the surrounding streetscape.

We’re confident the local community is pleased with how this project has elevated the space.

Looking Ahead

As summer becomes a memory, receiving installation photos from happy clients makes all the hard work worthwhile. Seeing our sculptures, screens and architectural elements integrated into real spaces reminds us why we do what we do.

It also gives us fresh energy as we dive into an exciting new year of projects.

If you have photos of a Lump piece in your space, we’d love to see them feel free to share!
