Finshes - Powder coating

Powder coating is a type of finish that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. It's different to a conventional liquid paint (sometimes called 'wet paint' which is pretty amusing!)

The coating is applied electrostatically which is why it's not a DIY job and the catalogues and colour charts are not available in Bunnings.

The reason powder coating is so effective is that it is cured under heat to allow the powder to flow and form a "skin."  We use powders to create a tough finish that is much more durable than other paints. The result is a perfectly even finish that gives our screens and light feature panels a really contemporary edge.

We only use and recommend Dulux Powders which are specifically designed for aluminium, can be colour matched to the 'Colorbond' colour range and are UV rated for maximum protection from the elements.

For a bit more information jump on the Dulux website http://www.dulux.com.au/specifier/our-brands/dulux-powder-coatings - we're sure we're not the only ones that are excited by powder coating!
