Natural rusted finish

Corten is a very different material to mild steel. It is a structural material that was originally designed to be used in the construction of shipping containers. The rust creates a protective barrier so the material underneath will not deteriorate over time. The natural rusted finish is REAL rust and will leach a stain when it becomes wet. Please consider this when thinking about your application especially if you are planning on having a Lump piece on or near pale coloured walls or tiles.

Lump’s faux rust effect
If you are concerned about using Corten for the reason outlined above, we would recommend that you consider a Lump piece made from another material such as aluminium. Our Aluminium pieces may be finished in our unique ‘faux’ rust effect. Our paints are specifically selected to provide a finish that will mimic the look of real rust. There is some sheen with this finish that is unavoidable, however, no rusting means no maintenance.

Are you looking for a new organic finish ?

Our Aluminium pieces may be finished in our unique ‘faux’ aged copper patina effect. Our paints are specifically selected to provide a finish that will mimic the look of a real copper patina. There is some sheen with this finish that is unavoidable, however, the patina will never be affected by bird poo

Lump’s raw steel effect
Similar to the process involved in our faux rust effect, our raw steel effect blends various shades ofcolourto provide a finish that will mimic the look and feel of raw steel.

Powder coated finish
Powder coating is a fabulous way to customise a Lump sculpture, screen or light feature. Lump uses only the best quality Dulux powders that are UV stable and guaranteed to last. Pick up a colour that is already in your home or garden or provide a real splash of colour for contrast.

Bluestone painted finish

Our Bluestone finishes are produced from specialist auto acrylic paints which are strong and have been approved by the manfacturers themselves. The paints are specifically selected to provide a finish that will mimic the look of Bluestone.

Natural Patina

Copper and Brass may be finished with a natural patina. An ageing compound is applied by hand and the patina is the result of a natural chemical reaction between the aging compound and the metal. As the Patina is a natural reaction the finish is always unique to the piece and will continue to age and change over time.
